ISO Calibration Change

ISO Calibration
- Notice of Change -
June 1, 2012

Technidyne and Technidyne Laboratory Services (TLS) will implement a change in calibration scales as directed by the ISO Level II Standardizing Laboratory for diffuse optical standards.

Effective with all July 2012 standards, you may notice a change in diffuse brightness, whiteness, fluorescence and color values.

This change corresponds to annual transfer calibration of all ISO Level III Authorized Labs with the ISO Level II Standardizing Laboratory. A higher brightness transfer standard is being used along with improved
harmonization of the Authorized Laboratories resulting in this shift.

In general, after your July calibration, anticipate the following:
• Fluorescent grades are expected to increase in measures of Whiteness, and possibly in brightness.
• Non-fluorescent grades are expected to decrease in measures of ISO brightness.

The size of the resulting shift depends on the initial brightness, the amount of optical brightener, and the shade of the grade measured.

If you have questions regarding this, please contact your local Technidyne sales or service representative or contact our service department directly at +1 (812) 948-2884.

Best Regards,
