Technidyne now offers Sheffield roughness verification standards. There are two ranges provided. Upon purchase the customer will receive 40-70 SU and 220-260 SU range standards. The standards are made of a plastic film material. Therefore, they will show wear over time and must be replaced on a regular interval depending on the frequency of use.

These verification standards offer another level of diagnostics with the Sheffield instrument. Flow restrictors only evaluate the accuracy of the flow system. They do not take into account the measurement head. These verification standards provide diagnostic feedback on the entire measurement system. Air leaks, clamping problems and bad measurement heads can be diagnosed. This also ensures the integrity of the entire system.
Technidyne is working with the TAPPI Optical Properties Committee to develop a new high brightness, high optical brightener standard for directional (TAPPI) brightness testers. At the same time Manager - Technical Services, Jon Saatvedt, is looking at a different format for these standards that will allow more efficient measurement. If you have ideas, email him email@example.com.
All standard ensure your instrument is operating at optimal level. They also provide documentation to show compliance to ISO and other quality systems. Other standards available from Technidyne's lab included:
